Small forms that teach thickness by touch.
Relief textures without wheel dependency.
Slips, oxides, and firing notes explained plainly.
Clay Sky Sage runs handbuilding sessions in Utrecht for adults who want coil, pinch, and slab skills without wheel pressure. The Bridge Street studio keeps drying racks labelled, clay bodies explained, and firing notes written in plain Dutch-English workshop speech — still fully English on this site.
Sessions emphasise thickness by touch, scored joins, and surfaces that survive the kiln without mystery. We teach slips and oxides as choices, not magic. Class sizes stay small so demos remain visible and critique stays optional.
Since 2019 the studio has refused to become a souvenir factory. Pieces leave with makers; retail is secondary. Story pages explain why we stay workshop-led. If you need tableware repetition, we will say when a different pottery shop fits better.
Book with a short note about experience and whether you prefer evening or weekend blocks. We confirm clay fees and what to wear.
